If you’re here you’ve been following along on our 30 day meditation challenge! For some of you, you’ve been faithful to your meditations and you’re rocking it and for others you are trying to “catch up” but we want you to stop!
You don’t have to “catch up” when it comes to meditating, you just have to start. How can you start? Just start! The beauty of meditation is that you can do it at anytime and in any place. You don’t have to meditate in the “traditional” way you know, sitting down, legs crossed, wearing all white.
Meditation can be done right now by just closing your eyes and focusing on your breath. Breathing in and out and letting your thoughts come and go while remaining focused on your breath. But what if we told you, you don’t have to meditate just by doing that? What if we told you, you could also meditate while you’re taking a shower, eating your meal, or walking to the train! We’re serious.
Meditation is simply the act of being present in your daily life and reflecting on the present. By doing this you’re allowing your mind to have the space to just BE. It doesn’t have to think, act, or make any decisions, it just has to be present. Research shows that by giving your mind and body this space to be it helps to manage stress.
Along with helping with stress meditation also has a bunch of other health benefits that science is just now researching. Check out this article on Healthline where they talk about some of the benefits that have been researched!
A tip that’ll help you stay focused during meditations are affirmations. These are things that you can say to yourself when your mind begins to wander and can be used throughout the day to bring you back to the present. h
